The Opportunity

The logistics supervisor has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of inventory movement within TUSA. You will be responsible for the maintaining of accurate inventory records, managing inventory levels and ensuring efficient inventory operations. Your role will involve co ordinating with various departments to optimize inventory processes and implementing systems to minimize stock discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy.

What you’ll be doing

STRATEGY AND PLANNING
• Implement and design a loss capturing system to identify top losses in Warehouse and to report accurately and effectively on the daily progress of production including any delays and their root causes to the Departmental Manager, so that adequate decisions can be made to minimize effects on customer deliveries, production efficiency and future production planning.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
• Maintain accurate inventory records using JDE. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure stock arrives to production areas to allow production deadlines are met within Service Level Agreements.

INVENTORY CONTROL
• Implement Inventory control procedures to prevent stockouts, overstocks and shrinkage. Conduct regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in inventory management and develop strategies to optimize inventory operations. Streamline inventory processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Team leadership
• Supervise inventory staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure a self-directed work team.
• All other duties Ensure the team members adhere to inventory procedure4s and standards with visible KPI’s in place.

PEOPLE
• Carry out direct report responsibilities for all Operator levels, including holiday approval, sickness monitoring, return to work interviews etc. Ensure that minimum staffing levels are maintained.
• Monitoring team performance, and working with HR to address poor performance, supported by the Departmental Manager where required. One to Ones are done across the department as well as across manufacturing with objectives rolled out to manufacturing and performance management system is in place.
• Support the Departmental Manager in delivery and implementation of a training improvement program for all Operator levels.
• Rollout of the training plans as per requirements together with Continuous Improvement Training included in the plan.
• In conjunction with the Departmental Manager, to maintain a skills matrix and to identify potential skills shortages and succession planning within departments.
• To promote the right employee behavior and conduct of employees through coaching and mentoring to increasing morale through involvement, training, and recognition.
• Ensure development plans are done for all Team Leads and operators.
• Training plans are put in place to address those development gaps.
• Monthly one to ones with all Operators are done.
• Quarterly reviews are done for all Operator levels.

REPORTING
• Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock movements and inventory performance metrics. Analyse data to identify trends, variances and ensure weekly reports are done.
• Ensuring the KPi’s Scorecard and visual management boards are updated daily with build / future status and all actions are escalated. Ensure departmental are up to do date and that relevant problem solving is done on your highest loss areas.

PROBLEM SOLVING
• Address any issues or challenges related to inventory management, such as stock shortages, supplier delays or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping and 5S are always maintained within the department and the surrounding outside buildings.
• Ensure all Service Level Agreement are met for Labs, Planning and production and effective communication between stakeholders.
• Maintain high standards of GMP & BRC compliance in all aspects of production.

What we’re looking for

High school diploma or GED with 5+ years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge & Experience

• Leadership abilities including capacity to motivate team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of inventory management.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems with the ability to lean new tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with \a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime including nights and weekends when business needs require.
• Ability to safely and efficiency operate a forklift in warehouse and production environments.
• Skilled in utilization of various computer programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to walk, kneel and stoop on a regular basis.
• Ability to twist, bend, stretch and climb on a regular basis.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Valid Hazardous Materials certifications.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP).
• Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
