The Opportunity

The Production Planner will have full responsibility for scheduling and maintenance of all aspects of their respective area(s). They will be the conduit between Commercial and Production, ensuring that customer requirements are prioritised whilst exploiting efficiencies and cost savings to maximise profitability. This challenging role also entails proactive stock management and working in the spirit of continuous improvement ensuring excellent communication channels with all stakeholders across the business.

What you’ll be doing

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
• Effectively manage all production requirements for designated area(s)
• Plan and schedule workflow for each area in accordance with established manufacturing lead times
• Monitor the status of customer orders and act accordingly to maintain on time deliveries
• Analyse product data to determine manufacturing processes, capacity, and resource requirements
• Analyse and interpret BOMs to ensure correct stock rotation and opportunities to minimise lead times
• To be the first point of contact for all planning and production enquiries and orders for designated area
• Assist with prioritising orders, critical demand planning, and resource loading
• Monitor works orders through all status levels to ensure on time and in full delivery
• Monitor and review contract stocks and replenishment plan to minimise stock but guarantee availability
• Ensure MRP and other planning tools are used to accurately interpret demand
• Monitor capacity planning, demand profiles and scenario planning to ensure resources are allocated effectively
• Ensure any planning tools used are updated and accurate in line with new product launches
• Work to ensure alignment of commercial needs and operational requirements in the short to medium term
• Review all exception reports, operating policies, and procedures in the spirit of continuous improvement
• Perform such other tasks as are consistent with the general role description and job title

What we’re looking for

Ideally you will have be educated to A level or above and meet the following criteria

Essential:
• Knowledge and experience of MRP. Strong ERP systems knowledge
• Ability to make critical but subjective decisions, prioritise workloads effectively, and be an excellent communicator influencing key stakeholders across the business.
• Data extraction, analysis, and administration
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Collaborative, team-player, able to interact effectively regionally and globally
• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse a high volume of data and produce recommendations
• Excellent attention to detail
Desirable:
• Experience using JD Edwards (JDE)
• Forecasting
• Experience of working within the Flavour & Fragrance industry
