The Opportunity

The Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for providing efficient day-to-day coordination and administrative support for our Export and import activities. You will play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance of our imports and exports and effective movement of goods globally to fulfil our internal and external customer requirements.

What you’ll be doing

• Coordinate all aspects of exports into Treatt USA, via air or ocean shipment.
• Complete and maintain necessary export records, spreadsheets, reports and shipping related JDE data.
• Prepare associated export documentation, including certificates of origin etc.
• Learn all aspects of imports to provide basic cover.
• Archival, review and transmittance of completed documents to other Treatt departments and/or customers/auditors.
• Cultivate strong partnering relationships with shipping vendors to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective service possible.
• Support the effective flow of information between all departments including Goods-in, Customer Services, Planning and Shipping.
• Remain knowledgeable and current on hazmat, international and domestic logistics’ regulations and communicate those, as necessary.
• Have a continuous improvement mindset actively looking for opportunities to implement new, more efficient, and better ways of working.
• Undergo training in areas specific to Treatt’s business as required.
• Assist other departments when needed.
• Act in the best interests of Treatt PLC at all times by demonstrating Treatt values.
• Help to foster and promote both an employee health & safety and food safety culture.
• All other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

• High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years prior logistics experience required.
• Good knowledge, understanding and use of the English language.
• Previous dealings with international air/ocean shipping.
• Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems such as JDE or SAP.

Knowledge & Experience

• Export experience.
• Strong working knowledge of international shipping and freight forwarding requirements.
• A minimum of 2 years working in an office-based environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to take initiative, be proactive and manage changing priorities.
• Great interpersonal and relationship skills.
• An ownership mentality with the aptitude to work independently as required
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proven ability to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong PC Literacy including Word & Excel.
• Curiosity, drive and determination to make continuous improvements.
