The Opportunity (General Summary)

 This post holder will drive the implementation of the global Procurement strategy. Continuity of supply, increased contribution and improved communications are the objectives of the role, along with managing key aspects of the supply chain, from origin through to stock, and from contract negotiation through to material receipt. Sourcing from a global supply base, the postholder will ensure the sustainable supply of key raw materials to the business. This is a key role which will allow its occupant to manage, develop and motivate procurement professionals as well as identify new ways of working. It is their responsibility to collaborate, communicate, create efficiencies, and innovate with Treatt team members and stakeholders, supporting the global department and championing teamwork.

What you’ll be doing

• Proactively ensure continuity of supply, sourced from a sustainable and approved supply base
• Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks and constraints
• Line management responsibilities for US Buyers
• Inventory analysis – ensuring optimum inventory levels are maintained, with focus on single and sole source high risk raw materials in line with departmental KPI’s
• Visiting suppliers and attending industry events as and when required, which will involve international travel
• Coaching and mentoring direct reports and more junior members in the team, sharing knowledge to upskill, assist with development and support career progression
• Accountable for multi-million dollar annual spend across multiple categories
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Global Sustainability Manager to create a global matrix for grading suppliers, leading to the creation of a core supplier base
• Immersing in global markets to maintain awareness of, and communicate, market conditions & dynamics to internal customers and stakeholders
• Deliver both short term and strategic savings via value added activities including implementing new initiatives that generate net savings
• Develop departmental SOP’s and implement more systems based purchasing and processing
• Analyse category spend performance and identify opportunities whilst mitigating risk
• Manage, develop and strengthen key supplier and stakeholder relationships
• Challenge traditional thinking and working practices, fostering continuous improvement
• Develop and deliver presentations to a wide audience across all levels of the business
• Interact and align internal cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve business goals
• Perform such other tasks as are consistent with the general role description which may be subject to change from time to time
• Help to foster and promote both an employee health & safety and food safety culture
• Act in the best interests of Treatt PLC at all times

What we’re looking for

• A minimum of three years people management experience
• Knowledge and experience sourcing from a global supply base
• Confident international traveler with a full passport and the ability to travel globally
• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse a high volume of data and produce recommendations
• A minimum of five years Procurement or Commercial experience in a multinational company
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong knowledge and experience working with MRP systems
• Relavant degree level education, Bachelors preferred
• MCIPS/CIPS qualified is desirable

Travel: 25% International travel will be required as well as relatively frequent domestic travel.
