Job title: Junior Software Developer
Reporting to: Team Leader
Location: Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk
Hours: 35 hours per week

The Opportunity

As a Junior Software Developer you will be supporting and maintaining software key to Treatt’s IT and business strategy. You will be working with our suite of software tools to service end user requests logged in our busy helpdesk, produce supporting documentation and assist our developers in the testing of bug fixes, modifications and new implementations.

What you’ll be doing

The core responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to :

• Provide 1st Line Technical support in areas of expertise.
• Provide formal testing of software development changes made by the development team
• Assist in the identification, evaluation and implementation of 3rd party software.
• Keep abreast of the latest technology.
• Write and Maintain systems documentation

What we’re looking for

• We will consider suitable candidates with a diploma in Business Information technology or related subject and/or experience in an IT software role.
• Experience and knowledge are required in the following areas (training will be provided but a competent understanding of these is required):
o SQL Server (a basic level of understanding SQL database schema, connections and experience in SQL query writing).
o Knowledge of ASP.net development.
o Basic understanding of Reporting tools.
o An understanding of the principles of ERP supply chain management (Procurement, inventory management, manufacturing, Sales and distribution) would be an advantage
o Experience in Excel (a good understanding of formulas, pivot tables, VBA code).
o Knowledge of Low Code Solutions.
o The ability to learn and adapt to new Software tools.
o Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience in working in an IT department and providing IT support would be beneficial, but not essential
• An understanding of modern software development tools would be useful.
