The Opportunity

This is a superb opportunity for a highly motivated Planner to join a busy Operations function, generating detailed Planning information rapidly yet accurately to support the needs of the Business. Working in a pressured environment, you will be responsible for effective analysis and interpretation of data via JDE and bespoke Excel Planning Tools. You will be a key communicator between Customer Services, Procurement and Production, ensuring on time deliveries are met whilst maximising efficiencies and resource utilisation.

What you’ll be doing

After training you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Effectively managing all production requirements as part of a small Team of Planners.

  • Analysing production specifications and plant data to determine manufacturing processes, capacity and resource requirements and recommend best utilisation.

  • Planning and scheduling workflow for each work centre in accordance with established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

  • Monitoring the status of various customer orders and act accordingly to maintain on time deliveries.

  • Analysing and interpreting BOMs to determine production can manage demand; including the coordination of critical path material including material transfers and conditional material releases.

  • Planning in production engineering requests for maintenance/repair services to equipment.

  • To be the first point of contact for all planning and production enquiries/orders requiring processing; assisting with prioritising orders, critical demand and smoothing the production loads.

  • Monitoring works orders through all status levels; including stock adjustments/movements and liaising with all departments to ensure lead times are not exceeded.

  • Reviewing contract stock each week; liaising with necessary departments to meet the forecast dates and developing the relationship between sales and production in order to understand future demand.

  • Ensuring ERP and other planning tools are used to enable accurate interpretation of demand; including capacity planning, demand profiles and scenario planning.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who has experience in production planning and scheduling, ideally within in a manufacturing environment. You will need to have good working knowledge of Oracle or SAP, Microsoft Excel and possess excellent numerical and communication skills. Strong numeracy skills and advanced Excel skills are essential.
