Job title: Graduate Trainee - Innovation
Location: Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk
Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
This exciting opportunity will give the Trainee an in-depth overview of working in the UK Technical Innovation department. It is also an opportunity for you to work alongside experienced professionals in a range of areas including Operations and Commercial and see how their role impacts, and is impacted by, the work that you will be undertaking in Innovation.
The rotational programme includes:
An in-depth introduction programme with opportunities to work in Technical Validation, Production and Distillation.
Specialised rotations throughout the whole of Innovation including new product development, new process development and analytical innovation.
You will also spend the year compiling a comprehensive report and presentation which will encompass what you have learnt from the whole year, this will be presented to the Leadership Team at the end of your tenure.
• Development, scale up and validation of innovation projects into manufacturing and production and accurate transfer into quality systems.
• Investigation and implementation of technologies with a view to developing new, innovative product lines or more efficient processes
• Continuous evaluation of relevant literature and communication of learnings from research and training to colleagues
• Suggesting new avenues of research with a view to commercialisation
• Blending laboratory scale prototype samples of essential oil and chemical blends for customer driven projects, conducting instrumental analysis and interpretation of results for prototype blends
• Maintaining accurate and up to date electronic records in various platforms.
Most of your learning will be on the job. But in addition to all the support, encouragement and guidance you receive from your mentor and rotational line managers, there will be some technical training involved.

Applicants must have an undergraduate honours degree or an integrated master’s degree in a pure or applied science subject. Candidates with A-levels accompanied by experience in a scientific field will also be considered.
