Richard Hope, Group Financial Director of Treatt PLC, has been shortlisted by the readers of Shares magazine for the prestigious Finance Director of the Year award, part of the UK Stock Market Awards which is one of the UK’s leading and unique award ceremonies for publicly listed companies and the people that drive them.
These awards recognise and reward all that is great about publicly-listed British firms, the equity market which they choose to operate within and their enormous contribution the UK’s economy. Ideally the winners’ shares will have performed consistently well during the year.
The Finance Director of the Year award recognises the UK’s key finance individuals and how they have delivered strong fiscal results, financial controls and corporate governance, and also takes into consideration the successful execution of any restructuring programmes and company fund raising. The key is how the FD’s actions have helped to improve a company’s growth prospects, manage or lower the risks which face it and enhance earnings and cashflow. All of these factors should have resulted in healthy share price increases and likely outperformance of both the peer sector and the FTSE All-Share. Other nominees in the category include the FDs of IG Design Group, Aggreko, BHP Billiton and GVC Holdings.
A judging panel of senior financial experts from the world of corporate finance, law, accounting, public relations and media met at the end of February to analyse each nominee’s credentials in detail and decide who will receive the prestigious award at the Gala Ceremony at the end of March.
When hearing of the nomination, Richard said; “I’m extremely proud to receive this nomination on behalf of all my colleagues at Treatt. It is a true recognition of the Group’s success over the last five years, driven by a clear recognition that the key to our growth is our people. Everything else stems from that.”
Daemmon Reeve, Treatt’s Group CEO commented, “This nomination is well deserved recognition for Richard who has been doing great work for Treatt since he joined us. It is critical for me to work with an FD who doesn't just pay lip service to the engagement that we as a company believe in, but truly drives that agenda.”
The 2017 UK Stock Market Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 30th March at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane Hotel.
