A spring cleaning project in Northern Way, Bury St Edmunds took place on Tuesday 16 May, with over 50 employees from Treatt plc, the leading beverage ingredient solutions manufacturer, taking part.
Joining members of St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s waste department, the Treatt team worked throughout the day in three shifts. They cut back trees and shrubs and cleared footpaths as well as litter picking, greatly improving the appearance of the footpath which was almost completely overgrown and difficult to see.
Daemmon Reeve, Treatt’s Group CEO said, “We have all enjoyed today, everyone has worked really hard and the result is definitely worth it. It was also great fun and an opportunity for everyone from different parts of the business to work together and get to know each other better.”
As well as removing litter, ten tonnes of garden waste including path edges and soil was cleared. Andy Hobbs, Waste Development Officer St Edmundsbury County Council said, “We support community litter picks by residents and businesses throughout the year as part of our Love Where You Live campaign and we are delighted to have worked alongside Treatt tidying the footpaths, cutting back shrubs and removing litter.”
